The Bank of Zambia weekly average mid-exchange rate depreciated by 0.83 percent to K12.11 per US Dollar from K12.01 per US Dollar as recorded in the previous fortnight.
The weighted average treasury bills yield rate rose to 23.08 percent from 23.36 percent previously. Yield rates on the 91 days, 182 days and 273 days remained unchanged at 15.25 percent,15.00 percent and 23.00 percent, respectively, whilst the 364 days yield rate rose to 24.00 percent from 23.56 percent previously.
The weekly average currency in circulation fell by 6.66 percent to K 6,936.21 from K7,431.16 million in the week ending March 15, 2019.
The Lusaka Consumer Price Index rose by 0.47 percent in the fortnight ending March 20, 2019 compared to a fall of 0.03 percent in the period ending March 06, 2019.
The weekly average copper price on the London Metal Exchange (LME) fell by 0.92 percent to US $6,368.66 per tonne from US $6,427.99 per tonne recorded on March 15, 2019.
